The Founder Interview

One conversation a week, every week, for as long as we work together. It is the heart of the Pre-Sold System, and the only part of it I do not delegate.

“I talk to the clients once a week and interview them. I want their words to come right through, then get that expertise, that knowledge, that personality onto the web, backed up by good technology. From there, I know you end up with an inbox full of leads.”
Nick Burrage

You know more than you think

You simply do not appreciate what great expertise you have. Nobody in your position does.

You have got so lost in the figures and the boring bits that you have forgotten you are an expert in your thing.

My questions are intentionally designed to draw that expertise out. Clients often come away having realised they had underappreciated their own business.

01
The interview
Recorded, unhurried, on the questions your buyers actually ask and the answers you would only give in person. Pricing included, talked about in a sensible and safe way.
02
It adds up
One interview makes a good article. Fifty two of them make something nobody can copy: an accumulation of your wisdom, your expertise, your own statistics, what you see day in, day out. And in there is the brave line your competitors would never publish. That is the part clients want removed on the first read and defend by the third month.
03
Onto the site
Your words, written up as pages and articles, edited for reading rather than rewritten for tone. You approve, you do not author.
04
Found by the right people
A senior team handles the search and technical work so the page is found by somebody ready to buy. That part is bought in from specialists, and it is the half of the job most agencies sell as the whole job.
Done for you

Designed to make you independent

These are skills you could easily take in-house. I was trained as a coach by Marcus Sheridan: the greatest thinker and writer on this subject, and the man behind the only globally proven content framework.

He designed the coaching programmes I trained on to leave owners independent of agencies after about eighteen months. It is certainly possible, plenty of businesses have done it, and if independence is what you want, we aim to get you there.

The simple fact is that none of my clients ever have. They enjoy the power of a team sitting behind the work, and they find it works better to stick with us. But I would be delighted for someone to say, “Nick, it has been a year. We know what to do now. We are taking it in-house.” That is a wonderful outcome too.
